Not a metric.
A system.
GR Quotient is a composite researcher evaluation framework that produces a single, interpretable score from 0 to 100, measuring what research actually contributes across five independently weighted dimensions.
Think of it as a credit score for research credibility. Except it shows its work.
Research contribution takes many forms. A researcher who publishes foundational work in a specialised field, one who builds bridges between disciplines and one who translates findings into real-world applications. Each creates genuine value in a different way. Measuring all of them with a single number has always been an incomplete approach.
Built for fairness.
Built for clarity.
GR Quotient does not replace traditional metrics. It contextualises them. Every measure it uses is independently justified, context-aware and designed to diminish in value the more you try to manipulate it.
Transparent by design
Every number is traceable to its source. Every weight is documented. Every career-stage adjustment is shown separately, never folded invisibly into the base score.
Multi-dimensional, not reductive
GR Quotient does not collapse everything into citations. Five independent pillars capture what research actually contributes across output, impact, reach, innovation and community.
Career-stage aware
A researcher with five papers and a researcher with five hundred should not be evaluated the same way. Stage-appropriate adjustments correct for a structural inequity built into most existing systems.
Open data only
Sourced entirely from OpenAlex and Crossref. No proprietary black boxes. No paywalled inputs. Any score can be independently reproduced from public data.
Five pillars.
One honest number.
GR Quotient evaluates every researcher across five dimensions of genuine contribution. Each pillar is independently scored, weighted and transparent. Together, they form the most complete picture of research value ever built into a single score.
Publication Impact
Evaluates the breadth and reach of a researcher's published work: h-index, total citations, publication count and i10-index across journals and conferences.
Citation Velocity
Field-weighted, real-time citation acceleration by discipline. A rising citation velocity signals growing influence and relevance within a research field.
Development Goal Alignment
GRDG and UN SDG alignment, open-access publication rate and societal citation reach, rewarding research that addresses the world's most critical challenges.
Innovation
Patents filed, books authored and unique funder diversity, capturing the translational and applied dimension of a researcher's contribution beyond traditional academic output.
Peer Recognition
Community endorsements and post-session Quotients accumulated over time on the GR Connect platform, reflecting real-world standing among peers and collaborators.
No score without an explanation.
Every researcher who receives a GR Quotient score can see exactly how it was calculated. Not a summary. Not a rounded number. The full breakdown, covering every pillar, every weight, every contribution to the final number.
What you can always see
Your pillar scores
Pillar 1 through Pillar 5, each out of 100, each with its weight in the composite.
Your raw data
The actual numbers from OpenAlex and Crossref that produced your scores, so you can verify them against your own records.
Your career stage adjustment
If you received a bonus, it is shown separately and clearly, never folded invisibly into the base score.
Your score history
Every score ever computed for your profile, with the date, the trigger and the scoring version used.
Every GR Quotient score is deterministic. Given the same raw bibliometric data and the same scoring version, the formula always produces the same result. If you disagree with a score, you can trace every number to its source.
Researchers deserve better tools.
The way we evaluate research shapes what research gets funded, which researchers get hired and who gets to participate in global knowledge creation.
For researchers
A credible, portable reputation signal that travels beyond your immediate field and institution. Something you can point to that tells the full story of your contribution.
For seekers
A trusted framework for discovering the right expert, not the most famous one, but the most relevant, qualified and genuinely accomplished one for a specific need.
For institutions
A rigorous, manipulation-resistant evaluation tool that supplements traditional review processes with objective bibliometric intelligence.
For the ecosystem
A system designed to reward genuine contribution, because the research world is better when evaluation reflects substance.
